The integration of information and communication technologies to the professional training process implies changes in the conceptions of educational practice. This leads to the teachers´ preparation based on the development of students' skills so that they can answer to the demands of this century, so the objective of this article is to propose a methodology that contributes to the development of digital reading competence in the professional training process for the degree in Foreign Languages Education at the University of Artemisa. Materialist dialectics was used as a general method of science and theoretical methods such as analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, systematization; systemic-structural-functional approach and documentary study were used as an empirical method. The result is a methodology made up of fundamentals and features that characterize it, principles on which it is based, theoretical-cognitive apparatus, stages, steps and methodological procedure. It points to a training process with an emphasis on the teaching-learning process, in which the student autonomously and responsibly becomes a competently digital reader, capable of inserting himself into the knowledge society and transforming it in a creative way.
